« Good horror »
This collection of movies brings old and new types of horror. Well worth the money.

« It's Masters of Horror - of course you're going to buy it. »
Masters of Horror Season Two box set; it's MoH so of course you want it. And yes, the packaging is stunningly bad. Don't get me wrong - I love a random marketing skull ploy as much as the next horror chick - but the problem is the dvds are essentially loose inside the skull. It's difficult to find the dvd you want to watch because they're all jammed together, and the terror that overcomes you as you attempt to put a dvd back without scratching it (coincidence? Perhaps not!) is significant. So my opinion is just go ahead and buy it, and when it arrives give yourself 5 minutes to complain about the packaging, then put the dvds in their own sleeves. Then you have yourself another round of MoH, and a new gnarly candy dish!

« Fun movies, and not a bad price! »
I gave this 5 stars not because every movie was worthy of an Oscar, but because the set as a whole was very entertaining. It was clear that there were freedoms given to the film makers that weren't available to mainstream big-screen high budget directors, producers and writers. Some movies were only OK, but none were bad. This season had a few gems in it... Valerie Under the Stairs, Family, and The Washingtonians come to mind immediately. Check it out! You'll like it!

Well, thanks to Anchor Bay for this beautiful looking special edition (it`s on display on a bookshelf in my studie). It`s also great that the movies are presented in their unrated form, because I saw some on rental DVD which were cut of all the good and red stuff. Filmwise it`s a whole different story. While there are some great (Screwfly Solution) or hilarious episodes (The Washingtonians) there are also weak ones among them. But that`s a problem you have to face when you buy a box set. So I think we have to life with the stinkers and watch the good ones.

« My review for season one and two. »
Season one was great. I enjoyed all the episodes. My favorite episodes were "Cigarette Burns" and "Deer Woman".My least favorite episode was "homecoming" just thinking about it gets me down, I could write paragraphs about what I did not like about this episode but doing that would make me sound like the crybabies who wrote the episode. Getting to the boxset, I liked the packaging, each DVD came with it's own individual sleeve and a bonus disc which unfortunately I have not been able to get to but for the sixty dollars I paid for the set I don't feel robbed. Season two was ok, Family, pelts, were good but my favorite episode out of the series was "The Washingtonians". Overall the second season was disappointing, most of the episodes had weak stories. It's not hard to guess I have not purchased the season two box set and probably won't unless I find it for cheap. So the bottom line is spend your money on season one and rent season two.
